To gain peace and privacy for my wife and i we need to install a three new six foot fences with a one foot trellis. This is a photo from our bedroom window that looks onto my neighbours garden. You will see that they have installed a 10 foot play frame  when they moved in two years ago. Since this small community of four 2 bed bungalows were built in 1964 they have always been occupied by retired people and when we moved in thirteen years ago all we have was peace and quite and no need to have a high fence.  All our neighbours respected our privacy and our need to relax so our fences did not need to be any higher than three feet now we do. Last year we could not spend any time in our back garden due to the noise, when I spoke to our housing association manager we were told that our young neighbours are aloud to have family noise and had authorisation to have the climbing  frame even though it looks into our bedroom. We have to have out bedroom blind down most of the time.  Please see picture. The costs are 3 x 6ftx6ft lap fence, 4x8ft posts plus post cement, 3x1ftx6ft trellis including nails and fixing. Also the cost of erection as we are unable to do due to age and been disabled. My other neighbours would benefit from the fence as it would dull their noise.  Even though the family are nice they do have a young child and seem not understand that due to our health conditions we need to be able to relax and enjoy our back garden this can be done only when they are out shopping ect.  Yorkshire Housing should not have placed a young family in a 55+ bungalow but they stated that no other people applied for the tenancy, this is not true they have excluded older people from applying because of their policy of only excepting online applications. We and others in the community knew of five retired people who wanted to move into our quiet community but was stopped because of not been able to apply, no computer and now way of getting online. So we and others have to suffer. So please try and help us if we could afford to pay our selves we would.  My alzheimer's is effecting both of us and I get very frustrated with not been able to use our back garden to relax in as we have done for over 10 years until the young family moved in. If we can get your support we will still have the noise but we would have our privacy back. Thank you for reading our story.
