Old Bond Store is looking to raise £2000 from our local customers as the Solent LEP have generously agreed to match fund this for us if we are lucky enough to reach our target!
Two years ago we took ownership of a Grade 2 listed building in the heart of Southampton with the aim of creating the perfect off site working environment and a hub of business activity in an ambitious city. Opening in November the recent close down of business has hit hard as it has our members.
Though government funding has helped maintain our staff team we have no possibility of any income during the lockdown period and as a privately owned, new small business we are not backed by large funding partners so any help at this time will make a significant impact.
It has also given us time to reflect on the path forward for our business but also for business in Southampton in general. With a large portion of business now comfortably running remotely without their large, empty offices the question isn't when will they return but why would they want to? At a time when every penny saved will be vital to help get the economy moving again your support to help fund new business coming into Old Bond Store will also help the business community of Southampton potentially reduce one of the biggest running cost they have meaning they can focus money where it is of most impact - especially in maintaining employment levels.
We genuinely wish to be at the heart of a growing and vibrant business community in Southampton and at this testing time your support will help us continue to provide that platform and service for Southampton.
*For those who dont know the Solent LEP was formed after the government asked local areas to take control of their own economic development and they have a number of funds available to support economic growth across the South Coast.
