Paul Duff headstone repair

Project by Michael James
Paul Duff headstone repair

The aim of this project is raise enough money for a friend so she doesn't have to pay for her husbands vandalised head stone.

We did it!

On 23rd Mar 2018 we successfully raised £626 of £600 target with 44 supporters in 28 days

UPDATE: Just wanted to give everyone an update and thank you for your donations. We have received a quote for the repair and we have raised more than enough to cover the cost to get it repaired and to have money to give to the RAF benevolent fund.

We have tried to close the crowd funding page but can’t seem to work out how to do it.  You are more than welcome to make a donation if you want and the money will be given to the RAF benevolent fund.

Hi all,

A few years ago a dear friend of mine, Paul Duff passed away. He was a big Cardiff City football fan so his wife chose to have a Cardiff City badge on his head stone. On the 21/02/2018 Paul's wife went to tend to his grave to find someone had sprayed red spray paint over the Cardiff badge and its has dripped all over the headstone.

The damage to the headstone now means it has to be removed to be repaired which is at a cost to Pauls wife! We are yet to receive a quote for the price for the repair and Pauls wife is really uncomfortable about me doing this but I really don't think it's fair for her to pay for some idiots actions over a football team!!

The image of Paul's vandalised headstone has been shared on Facebook and there was a lot of support from people in setting up a go fund me page which was another factor for me doing this.

As we do not have an official target I have put the target price at £600. Paul spent 11 years in the RAF and after his death the RAF Benevolent fund were a charity that were a big help to the family. So I thought any money raised above the repair cost will go directly to the RAF Benevolent fund.

Paul was a dedicated husband, father and loyal Cardiff City fan. For someone to do this to a place of rest where his family and friends visit to think about him is absolutely disgraceful. Any kind donations however big or small will be greatly appreciated.
