As a charity based at Higher Clovelly, North Devon, Noah’s Place supports adults with special needs in a safe secure, nurturing environment, giving them the opportunity to develop horticultural skills, maintenance and woodworking skills whilst joining with others in a variety of other activities. This we feel, is a means of overcoming many of the disadvantages which people with special needs face. Torridgeside is a beautiful area in which to live but far too often special needs adults are victims of rural deprivation, social isolation, loneliness and boredom. At Noah’s place we address these issues by including them in the everyday running of Noah’s place. Our aim is to offer a way for our special needs adults to gain confidence, provide meaningful activities and acquire new skills that might lead to employment. In addition to supporting our special needs adults we also involve clubs and schools from our local community giving them the opportunity to visit Noah’s Place explore our grounds and talk to our special needs adults about the work that they do.
