Be The Change's sessions are at full capacity; and we have had to regretfully decline referrals from other youth service providers due to limitations in our resources; particularly space to provide growth; staffing and resources. We have taken 10 years lease for a new facility. We plan to open in 2024; the new centre will provide us with a friendly hub for young people containing space for chill out space; a multi-purpose studio; music studio; computer room; meeting room; counselling room and office space with free wi-fi.
We currently share facility with 6 - 7 other groups and are limited to 3 sessions per week. With the increased demand on our services 3 sessions per week is not enough, Unfortunately we had to stop receiving new membership due to not enough space.
The new facility will have a big impact for young people in Bolton, providing them with a safe place which they can hang out and take part in various activities.
We have received funding support from Asda Foundation for a new kitchen and Centrica, to install sustainable energy technology to help reduce its carbon emissions and reduce energy costs. Despite the support received so far the building refurbishment costs is estimated a lot more than we anticipated, and the project requires further support in order to get the building work completed.
We plan on moving to our new place early next year, it is estimated to take 3-4 months which can be further delayed depending on funding, we want to get as much support to get our new facility ready for young people.
We welcome support from individuals, businesses and charities that care about young people and want to give back to the community.
Your support and contribution will go along way in helping young people reach their full potential and become valuable members of society.
