Julie and I launched the 'You Keep Me Sane' podcast on Wednesday, 6th November. The inspiration behind it came from our own shared struggles—navigating life’s challenges while transitioning from high-powered careers to being stay-at-home mums.
When we lived near each other, we often met up as our children were growing up. At one point, I (Aileen) shared my dream of moving to Spain, despite the challenges of doing so as a single parent who didn’t speak the language. Julie said to me, “I’m worried about you, but I’ll check in with you every day.” That’s how it all began—daily WhatsApp messages, supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. Over time, our voice notes grew longer and more heartfelt, often stretching to 27-minute monologues!
As we started sharing our story with others, people told us how much they longed for someone to truly listen to them in the same way. This sparked the idea for our podcast—a safe space where we could extend the kind of support we gave each other to others who need it, helping them “feel sane” amidst life’s chaos.
The response we’ve received in such a short time has been nothing short of incredible. It’s clear to us now that this isn’t just a passion—it’s our purpose.
TESTIMONIALS :-
- I’m in tears listening to the Intro episode, felt really touched by the words you guys were saying. Thank you ❤️ I’m sure you gonna help a lot of people 🙏🏻
- Absolutely LOVING this new podcast. Just launched this week and several episodes out already. This one reeled me in, pertinent reminder on the definition of ‘success’ and how it’s different for all of us
Alongside the podcast, we’re passionate about creating other ways for people to connect, including in-person seminars and our real & raw community.
We currently have five podcast episodes live, releasing one per week until January, when we’ll transition to two episodes per week. Excitingly, we’ve also secured a stand at the Podcast Show in London this coming May:
https://www.thepodcastshowlondon.com
As the largest podcast convention in the world, this event is a pivotal opportunity to gain traction and reach a wider audience.
Looking ahead, part of our vision is to publish four inspirational quote books, ready in time for the Podcast Show in May 2025. The first book is already completed, and we’re in discussions with Balboa Press to have it published before Christmas. Through Balboa Press, we’d have access to 35 million Hay House members and distribution channels such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and industry leaders like Ingram and Baker & Taylor.
To maintain our current momentum, we are seeking funding to support:
- Social Media Marketing
- Podcast Editing (including video as we expand onto TikTok and YouTube)
- Book Publishing and Distribution
- Podcast Show Stall Setup
Up until now, we’ve self-funded these efforts, including working with an audio editor. However, as our audience grows and we expand onto additional platforms, an injection of funding will help us move forward at the pace we need, reaching even more people who crave connection, understanding, and a space to be vulnerable.
