Help Us Take "Yes, We're Related" to Edinburgh Fringe!

Hello wonderful supporters,

We are thrilled to share an exciting opportunity with you that's sure to bring laughter, tears, and a touch of chaos to the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We will be bringing a "nutty" new comedy titled "Yes, We're Related" by emerging playwright Florence Lace-Evans to the stage this year… And we need your help to take it there!

We have an incredible team bringing this play to life. Directed by the talented Eliza Beth Stevens, a rising star who has left her mark at renowned venues such as Southwark Playhouse, 2Northdown and Leeds Playhouse. Eliza's unique approach to theatre promises to infuse "Yes, We're Related" with energy and creativity.

Our production is a joint effort by two fantastic theatre companies: Purple Doors Productions Ltd (Eleanor Griffiths), an award-nominated comapny dedicated to nurturing emerging talent, and Hey, Thanks! Theatre Collective (Maria Goikhberg), a queer, women-led company that's been recognized as one of the 'Top 5 Edinburgh-Based Theatre Companies to Watch Out For.' With your support, we aim to showcase the power of collaboration and innovation on an international stage.

The play will be performed by Florence Lace-Evans, Eleanor Griffiths and Jack Huckin. All energised and collaborative performers with a wealth of experience across the stage and screen.

We will be taking the production to Willow Theatre at Riddles Court, Greenside - a 60 seat theatre named as "undoubtedly one of the most charming venues of the Fringe" by Lyn Gardner of The Stage. But before heading up we will also be putting the piece through its paces by previewing it at The Hen & Chickens in Camden and The Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham. We're committed to making our play the best it possibly can be and will be honing and tweaking it each step of the way.

Here's a sneak peek into the play:

Sara is living in denial. After losing her mother, Sara is dealing with ravenous rodents and redundancy and her life is on the brink of collapse. Cue her estranged older sister, Saskia – the golden child. Trifle in hand, Saskia and her quirky fiancée Mark surprise Sara on the anniversary of their mother’s death. But there is a secret which takes these two sisters from bad, to worse, to absolutely catastrophic!

Why Edinburgh Fringe?

It's the largest theatre festival globally, the third-largest ticketed event after the Olympics and the World Cup. This is our chance to shine among both new and established artists, and your support can make it happen! We want this play to have a brilliant future and heading to Edinburgh would be a fantastic place for us to showcase our work to other industry interested in taking the play further.

What will Edinburgh Fringe help us achieve?

  • Help us get picked up by programmers looking to build their next season of theatre
  • Be seen by larger London and regional theatre programmers
  • Build up reviews and media reach to increase the credibility of the piece
  • Introduce the play to a large audience over two weeks
  • Network with other artists and industry
  • Propel careers as emerging actors and creatives
