We are X2Y; a charity working alongside LGBTQ+ young people and their communities throughout Wolverhampton and the Black Country, to achieve our vision; a world of liberation, joy and empowerment for all LGBTQ+ young people!
We run groups and events for both 11-17 year olds and 18-25 year olds; fostering a safe space to build community, nurturing positive wellbeing and striving to overcome loneliness and isolation!
Over the last 20+ years, we have been committed to supporting young, LGBTQ+ people, their families, peers and schools to ensure that LGBTQ+ young people thrive in their confidence, wellbeing and mental health. Here are a few ways in which we have impacted our young people:
“I am happy with who I am now, when I joined, I was so uncomfortable in myself, but now I am happy, I have accepted that this is who I am.”
"after joining X2Y I feel so much more comfortable in myself and also knowing my parents can too reach out for support...it has helped me very much on learning to accept myself."
“(X2Y) is my safe space to be me"
“But coming here (to X2Y), it took the pressure of me for a moment. I could be part of my community and make friends who accept me.”
“ The communication is the best thing, you’re listened to and its a safe space to talk"
