WORTH: WOMEN ON THE ROAD TO HEALING

Domestic Abuse has a negative impact on a persons mental health as well as affecting many areas of a persons life long after they have escaped. WORTH came about due to personal experience of our CEO and the voices of women who also had lived experience of Domestic Abuse who all identified the gap for longer term support once the help from crisis organisations had come to an end. Healing from trauma takes time and support and that is what WORTH provides.

We offer several theraputic wellbeing groups which provide a safe space to share experiences, give and receive support, reduce isolation and helps to give women their voice back that the abuse often steals from them. Our wellbeing groups are holistic in nature, providing ways to work through your trauma as well as learning tools that support your healing. We currently utilise art, writing, yoga and nature in our wellbeing groups, but in a therapeutic way that supports healing and growth.

We also provide a conflict resolution & self protection course that has been specifically created to support our clients protect themselves if need be in their homes.

Many clients are now sharing their stories through speaking events or art exhibitions or through writings and poems to reach others and raise awareness.

One client recently shared:

"Since coming to WORTH I can now sleep with my light off"

This is the difference being supported can have on someone, enabling them to live life in a way many take for granted.

WORTH also is dedicated to raising awareness around domestic abuse and trauma within the wider community and have developed training courses and workshops which we deliver at organisations, schools and universities.

Even though so much is happening on the ground, we cannot survive unless we can secure core running costs.

Your support will enable us to keep our safe centre open and to be able to continue to support our clients as well as meet the growing demand for our services.
