Aim: Educate everyone of the importance in the health of our Ocean through science and storytelling.
Science underpins everything we do at Ocean Generation
We translate complex Ocean science into engaging content; use film and popular culture stories to nurture an inclusive approach to sustainability; and run three UNESCO-endorsed youth engagement programmes for 3 – 25-year-olds.
Your support allows Ocean Generation to continue delivering the following:

With 42% of the global popluation under the age of 25, the lives of young people will be most impacted by today's Ocean threats. We use the power of storytelling to translate complex marine science into engaging and practical actions. Our four-pillar approach includes:
1. Engaging in the wonder of the Ocean
2. Presenting Marine Science
3. Explaining Ocean Threats and
4. Creating Empowerment tools to generate action
Our UNESCO endorsed Youth programmes are built on the same four science-based pillars.
Not only do we engage with young people, we share important topics grounded in science on our Science Hub. Our Science Hub is an inclusive and accessible space to engage our audience in Ocean Intelligence. It's a one-stop platform for learning the importance of the Ocean and our impacts, but also to equip people with the knowledge they need to adopt Ocean-positive behaviours. In accordance with our UNESCO endorsement, the Science Hub plays a pivotal role in this decade which is the most crucial decade for action. Visit the hub.
World Ocean Day Impact
As we celebrate UN World Ocean Day with the theme of Wonder: Sustaining what sustains us, Ocean Generation remains dedicated to translating the marvels of marine science into accessible knowledge.
Using storytelling and pop-culture, we translate complex Ocean science into educational content and youth programmes that foster a deep connection to our Ocean. We take our audience into the vastly unknown and unreachable realms of our Ocean, to bring relevance to the surface of everyday life and how our Ocean sustains us all.
Ocean Generation Blog: Why There’s no Health Without the Ocean
Your support will help us on our 2025 mission to explore ecosystems and connected water sources in four science topics: Galapagos Islands, Rivers, Estuaries, Coral Reefs, and Kelp Forests.
Through our Ocean Explained series, we’ll illuminate these environments, their threats, and innovative solutions while deepening understanding of the Ocean. By sharing science-based content, we aim to inspire action and address Ocean challenges. A bonus series revisits plastics, exploring lessons learned and equipping communities to protect the Ocean’s future.
