Woodhouse Prize Band are 171 years old this year (formed in 1853!). We have always been totally self-supporting, with no formal sponsorship in all of our history.
We currently raise funds to pay for rent, day to day running costs, new music etc. (the list is endless!) by performing to a variety of audiences throughout the year.
We have been rehearsing in the Sheffield village of Woodhouse for all of our existence, and now sadly find ourselves on the lookout for a new bandroom, which will unfortunately cost us financially to move.
The cost of moving a brass band, our equipment, music library, instruments and extensive archive will be huge, along with the costs of making any new rehearsal venue secure and fit for purpose.
Any funds kindly donated will help to ensure one of the oldest brass bands in the UK (and the world!) can continue to make music for many years to come. We are so grateful for any support.
We pride ourselves on entertaining our audiences since 1853 - and hope this will continue for another 170+ years!
