Run by adults with learning disabilities, Woodcraft & Gardening CIC is a small Social Enterprise based in Hinckley and South Wigston. We are a team of approximately 20 people with a wide variety of abilities, and this Enterprise enables us to work in the local community, gain new skills and build confidence.
As well as two workshops where we make and sell our own woodwork items, we have our own vegetable garden and an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables to sell. Any money we make from the sale of our goods goes back into the Enterprise to enable us to continue our fantastic work. 
With climate change and the current cost of living crisis, we want to do everything we can to make our Enterprise more sustainable, both for the planet and for ourselves. We are currently building a structure at the allotment to enable us to collect and store rainwater during the winter months to see us through the hot, dry summers when it is becoming increasingly difficult to get enough water to the allotment to sustain our crops. It will also provide shelter for us from the British weather!
Any money we raise from Crowdfunder will go directly into the Social Enterprise to enable us to continue working towards a more sustainable and planet-friendly future. Our first priority will be the rainwater structure at the allotment and any further funds will be used within the Social Enterprise for ongoing needs, for example purchasing essential supplies for the allotment and woodwork shops or going towards the purchase of a crew bus.
