Aim: To help Wivey Pool raise funds for a new pool house.
Most of you know I have swum since the onset of arthritis and it really is the best therapy! I started swimming at Wivey Pool soon after we moved to Devon. This pool is a fantastic facility which will be 100 years old In 2027. The swimming community here is vibrant, welcoming and friendly and this place has certainly saved my mind, body and soul on more than one occasion over the last ten years.
The pool was funded and built by the local community almost 100 years ago and has withstood all the events during that time. We are raising funds for a new building and hope that the pool will be enjoyed for another 100 years.
I will be aiming to swim1927 lengths between now and the end of August. Any support will be much appreciated. Thanks, Mary.
UPDATE Well I'm knocking off this challenge one mile (60 lengths) at a time. I have now done 1420 so only another 507 to go!!
