Winton and Parkstone Community Pantry run four 'Open Pantry' sessions weekly in
which surplus food is distributed to the local community. The surplus food is
collected by volunteers from local shops and supermarkets and includes fresh, ambient and frozen items. The food will then be stored in readiness for the distribution sessions. Sessions are open to all and there is no registration or means
testing for customers who attend the sessions. The sessions are free to attend. The
sessions aims to support the local community and reduce food waste. The project is run solely by volunteers.
The sessions are open to anyone, but we primarily see individuals on low income
attending and immigrants who are new to the area. Many have become regular
volunteers.
Any support in the run up to Christmas would be a huge help!
