The Cause

On the 13th March 2024, I successfully became the first woman, and fourth person, to climb all 282 Munros during a single winter season. I completed the round in 83 days, equalling the record set by Martin Moran in 1985.

I would love to share my Munro Round Story by writing my first book. During the winter I shared daily accounts of my journey. I received many messages from people who said that they were inspired by my determination, and the honesty in my writing. I hope that writing a book will inspire others to dream big, face challenges and believe in themselves. I also recognise the gender imbalance that exists in the outdoors. There are very few mountaineering books written by women and I hope that my story will encourage more women to pursue the outdoors.

In addition, I have received several requests to speak at schools and youth organisations. I am passionate about the idea of helping to inspire confidence in young people and look forward to giving my own time to speak at schools and clubs over the coming year.

I have taken the bold step to resign from my office job to focus on this project. All funds raised will be used towards the costs of writing, publishing and printing the book.
