Winter DnD Academy

Character Creation Roleplaying is based in Plymouth, UK and is the brainchild of Chris Nicholls, senior DM and Chaos Wrangler. He is aided and abetted by DM Harry, Keep of the Dice. They work best when supported by the Empress of the Office (admin, general dogsbody, and writer) and an army of parent victims (volunteers, I meant volunteers).

Chris started by offering fun and educational DnD and roleplay game sessions to home educated children. This has now grown to include afterschool clubs and holiday clubs. We are hoping to expand our offering further and reach as many new players as possible.

We play in tables of six to ensure that groups are not too big and unwieldy. This requires two DBS checked adults with gaming experience and experience working with young people aged 12 -16, as well as additional adults to support teens with additional needs where required.

 We provide wrap-around care from 8.30 until 17:30 and offer a healthy breakfast, snacks and cooked lunch to every child. This requires fresh food and someone to prepare it so that our game leaders can focus on the games and the needs of the players.

 Unfortunately, venue hire, insurance, wages and resources are not free. Without support, the holiday sessions we offer would be out of the reach of many who would benefit most from the relaxed social interaction, creative thinking, problem-solving and general confidence-building that comes from well-run DnD sessions and other enrichment games and activities.

The more we can raise, the more we can subsidise the cost of places at the Winter Academy for those who get no council or government support during the holidays.

And, that is where you come in. No matter how small, every donation helps us help teens in our community to socialise, have fun, and take part in something different.
