How often have you given charity to overseas projects thinking there are no worthwhile causes close to home?
The Wings of Mercy Project, High Wycombe would like to invite you to donate to its most current project: Healthy Hearts, Qalb Salim.
Working with health care professionals, the ‘Healthy Hearts’ Qalb Salim project aims at providing recordings in Urdu and/or Potwari tackling a variety of topics around mental health. Audio recordings mean they will be accessible from the privacy of one’s home thus reaching a greater audience.
Whether its the elderly aunty struggling with trauma from the early days of marriage, or the brother struggling with alcoholism, or the sister trying to keep things together though she feels depressed, there are many suffering in silence within our own circles. Getting such people to therapy is not always an option, especially during the current pandemic
A full breakdown of the episodes are below.
1. What is a healthy heart? How does this impact your everyday life and interactions?
2. Dealing with loss and bereavement.
3. Dealing with trauma from the past and its impact on your life today.
4. Anxiety, Depression and Sadness.
5. Marriage and Divorce.
6. Parenting: Bridging the generational gap and building strong relationships with your children.
Your donations will be used to research, organise and deliver episodes in phase 1 of the Healthy Hearts Project. A full breakdown of costs and how donations were spent will be made available.
We need to raise a total of £1200 to be be able to complete phase 1 of this project.
