So whats the story?
Having a multi award winning script by writer/director Karlton Parris, WINGS promises to be a thrilling project to join. At the forefront of the story is the Murphy family, hiding dark secrets and a haunting past. From their Irish Traveller roots, they fled to Liverpool to try and escape the curse that has followed them for years. There is a creature deeply rooted in Irish folklore named The Puca, an ancient deity bent on mischief and mayhem. Our story's matriarch, Ivy Murphy, first encountered The Puca as a child in Derry. Today, as a mother and grandmother, she watches as her family is stalked by his evil presence. Ivy has always known this day of reckoning would come. As the crows turn the sky to black, as the insects, bees, butterflies and all winged creatures bend to the malicious will of The Puca, Ivy hears the beating of his wings, knowing something evil has come to Liverpool. Her granddaughter, DCI Rita Murphy, is heading the investigation into the abduction of four teenage boys. With no tangible evidence and a city baying for blood, Rita is unravelling fast. She will soon discover just how connected she and her family are to the events unfolding in Liverpool. A terrifying nightmare is about to engulf her. There will be shocking revelations, and an ancient bloodline, hidden beneath the skin of her own loved ones, will break free and show its wings.
