As a small family business our aim is to keep Stump Cross Caverns open for future generations to experience and enjoy. Educating families about this subterranean world is our primary aim. It’s spans the generations with its magic and wonder. A national treasure which needs to be shared.

I, Cavewoman have evolved as a character on the back of the pandemic and I love to guide people around my beautiful Caverns where I live. I get to connect people to nature. I really love what I do. I have been owner/custodian of these ancient caves with my family since September 2003 and have faced many challenges. Recently I have been doing fossil and gem digs with the families to enhance their learning experience here at the caverns. It’s proved very popular.

The profits that we have made as a business would normally be used to re invest in the business, however they are being reabsorbed due to the rising cost of living/bills. It almost seems even more appropriate now than before to give the flat away on Christmas Day and make at least one persons life easier whilst going through these tough times. £10 could turn into £130,000 for someone. Monies raised will in turn help to protect and preserve a little bit of history for our future.

We would then have the funds to invest in a much needed new specialist lighting system. The caves are unique in many ways but definitely when it comes to lighting them. It’s damp, inaccessible in places so quite a challenge to illuminate it to its best advantage. 

We have turned to a specialist cave lighting firm in Germany who will help us along with our electricians to improve lighting in a much more sustainable and environmentally friendly way. 

To renew the lighting would cost us a minimum of £200,000. That's why we are offering our lovely home as prize to one of our amazing supporters.

What's the prize?

After careful consideration and successfully carrying out two recent smaller crowdfunding campaigns using this secure platform, we thought it would be a great idea to give somebody the chance of a lifetime and grab a new home rather than selling our property the traditional way. 

Tickets are only £10 per entry. This includes entry to the prize draw and all entries receive a complimentary 3D virtual cave tour as a thank you for supporting us in our plea to save our ancient caves and illuminate them for future generations.

In order to increase the probability of reaching our target to enable us to relight our ancient show caves, we have taken the decision to extend the closing date to the 25/12/22 at 12 mid-day!

We need to sell at least 13,000 tickets for the draw to go ahead. Our ultimate aim is 20,000. The draw will take  place and find our lucky winner. This will be drawn at random by a third party. This will be shown live for everyone to see. 

If by the 25/12/22 we haven’t reached our target of 13,000 tickets then the Crowdfunder will be deemed unsuccessful and all monies refunded to our valued supporters.

We have been blown away by the support and number of entries to date and have therefore made the decision to lower our target to £130,000. We'd still like to raise the full £200,000 to go towards renovating the caves. But will now make the draw to win our home if a minimum of £130,000 is raised! We will close the prize draw on Christmas Day at 12 midday or once the £200,000 is reached on our stretch target

How will it work?

First and foremost, we would like to give all our wonderful supporters the option to support our project without entering the draw. 

All entries are limited to residents of United Kingdom only. If you want to support the campaign and are not a resident of United Kingdom you can simply donate some money if you so wish without being entered. Head here to donate without entering the prize draw. 

If you wish to enter our prize draw for every £10 entry ticket selected on this page and you will be entered into our prize draw once. 

To clarify; a £10 entry ticket receives one entry, a £20 entry ticket receives two entries, a £50 entry ticket receives five entries. And so on. You can enter multiple times.

We will be doing a LIVE PRIZE DRAW on Christmas Day or as soon as 20,000 tickets are sold.

• The winner will be chosen at random via a live prize draw, as soon as the last ticket is sold by a third party on social media. • We will announce the winner straight away and inform them within 28 days of the closing date and they will need to respond within 28 days or a new winner will be chosen at random. They will be contacted by email on how to claim their prize. If the winner does not respond within 28 days of the initial email being sent, the next winner will be chosen at random and emailed within 1 week. The keys to the prize will need to be collected by the winner in person once they have confirmed their address and provided identification via email.
