The Cause
The Bluetits is a worldwide community of swimmers and dippers brought together by a love of the water. From its humble beginnings in 2014 The Bluetits has strived to be inclusive to everyone no matter their background, ability, race, gender or beliefs.
The Bluetits is made up of a huge social swim community with over 150 volunteer run groups around the world.
We registered as a Social Enterprise in 2020 and in 2025 we became a Community Interest Company. All the funds that we raise from holidays, events and selling Bluetit kit goes back into supporting our community and cover the costs of running the organisation.
We have a small part time team at HQ and a warehouse space that we operate from when working together.
Some of the ways that we support our community:
✅ providing safety information in the form of videos and tips, shared on our YouTube and Social channels.
✅ supporting our volunteers in the administration of running a group and the difficulties that are inevitable whenever you bring large groups of people together.
✅ providing training to our volunteers, from mental health training to beach lifeguard qualifications.
✅ championing cold water swimming and the physical and mental health benefits.
✅ working with organisations such as the RNLI, RLSS and SAS on projects that support our community.
We work hard to raise funds from the sale of merchandise, events and challenges and have been fortunate enough to receive some grant funding from The National Lottery, but everything helps towards a secure financial future in uncertain times.
