Hi! My name is Liam. I'm an artist who has found his purpose in writing and illustrating children's books. I've been drawing pictures all my life and writing poetry for the last 4 years, and after one fateful meeting of my two week old niece, my two passions were to be married perfectly. It was on the coach back from my hometown Liverpool, UK two years ago where I had just met my beautiful newly born niece, Sienna - I had low battery on my phone and noticed the girl across from me glued to hers. I decided to put pen to paper and within 90 minutes my first children's book was born. Now I have completed illustrating the book I'm seeking out agents, publishers, schools, libraries, friends, family and of course, you!
Why Is No One Listening? is a picture book for 3-8 year olds that tells the tale of Enisa, a Japanese Akita dog who just wants to play outside with her family, but they all seem to be entranced by their screens. Nana, a kindly grandmother, explains to Enisa the implications of the grown-ups' attachment to their personal technology. The book is a conversation - in kid's terms - about people's attachment to technology, informing children about a subject they will soon, if not already, have to face. The story also speaks to the adult reading the book and reminds them of the responsibility they have to make sure they also have a healthy relationship with technology, as well as encouraging them to discuss these issues with their children.
My aim is to show all the support I receive through this Crowdfunder to any potential publisher to illustrate the book's/my potential.
