If we prevent the closure of the centre we would like to see improvements to the centre and increase the numbers of activities happening in the centre to help more members of this deprived community.
In September 2024, Derbyshire County Council closed Pure Vibes, leaving many vital community groups and organisations without a home. Since then a dedicated group of volunteers and stakeholders has been working hard to get it back.
We set up a charitable.company Whitfield Together and made a special.purchase of the building from Derbyshire County Council.
With your help to cover maintenance costs and all of the bills the community centre will always be a thriving hub, providing our community with vital life-line services including a Food Club (offering food support and saving food from waste), Hygiene and Period Products, Warm Space and Community Cafe as well as social, wellbeing and fitness activities for all generations from toddler groups and youth clubs through to seated exercise for the elderly. At the moment we host darts, Dancercise, yoga, food bank, foodclub and community café.
We need to raise around £1800 per month to keep going. No matter how small, please donate so we can continue to revive Whitfield's wonderful Community Centre and develop it even further. Thank you!
