Written about dancers by a dancer, Rachel Isobel Heritage’s new play welcomes the audience to indulge in the realities of S*xual Entertainment in the UK. Inspired by the current S*x Workers Rights movement and Rachel’s own experience, Whiplash sheds light on issues including misclassification of workers, wage theft and a licensing system that creates a monopolised industry. At the same time, Whiplash highlights an industry bonded by sisterhood, S*x Worker joy and some fantastic pole dancing!
Due to ongoing stigma, s*x workers telling their own stories is incredibly difficult. They have been spoken over and excluded from important conversations that affect their own rights and bodies. Lockdown Projections is proud to platform this story that needs telling and contribute to this important, growing movement.
