THE FILM
While The Moon Is On The Sea is a student short film following the family unit of Bev, a wisecracking no-nonsense grandmother, and her 2 mischievous grandchildren, Robbie and Lola, whilst they prepare for a seemingly normal family party - revealed at the end to be a living funeral for Bev.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
I wanted to make this film to challenge the frightening ideas of death - it is unavoidable and we must all be ready to lose people throughout our lives. I wrote this film when my own grandmother faced a terminal diagnosis and by using my own dark-comedy ways of dealing with difficult subjects I have been able to write a script that puts a lighthearted spin on what can be the worst moments of our lives. As my graduate film, this could be the first massive step into a career for me and the fantastic crew behind the film.

SO, WHY SHOULD I DONATE?
The big question on everyone's minds, I know. I want this film to capture just a small part of the process of terminal diagnosis - it isn't all crying and sobbing on a death bed, it's the small parts of life you'll look back on and appreciate spending with these people. The film will be realist at its core, with a balance of comedic and dramatic tension to capture a truly typical family dealing with this. Your money, if you can spare a few quid, would go towards realising this - from location, to transport, to props, to equipment, to festival submissions.
