When You Die - Crowd Funding

Aim: Flat Pack Theatre is putting on another incredible show but we need your help to reach our full potential!

Here at Flat Pack we want to keep theatre alive! And while theatre is an art form that isn't going anywhere we have noticed three things that are keeping theatre from going further. 

The first and most important is the fact that theatre isn’t finding a new place in the world of short form content. Today we can access comedies, dramas and other forms of entertainment through our phones and it takes us seconds to digest what could be a three hour movie. Here at Flatpack Theatre we are willing to adapt by making our shows shorter and more digestible for the next generation. Another problem that theatre faces is the obstacle of accessibility as many plays take place in grand theatres with expensive concessions making the common man feel out of place.

 At flatpack theatre we are striving to make everyone feel comfortable and where they are meant to be while still giving them a good show and an evening to enjoy. To do this we want to bring the theatre to them and have our shows put on wherever we physically can.

 Finally a big problem is that plays that are shown in theatres seem to have more of a focus on the grand sets and flashy props rather then the performers and rich script. While this is not necessarily a problem and definitely has a place in the world of theatre we want to push ourselves to our creative limits and peel back anything that could separate the audience and the actors as they are already so disconnected when a performer is inside a screen and not in the same room.

 As graduates of Salford University our love of theatre has never been destroyed by lack of budgets or sets as we thrive in our limitations. Our favourite thing about theatre is the community and we want to build a connected performance world by building a creative community full of writers, actors, musicians and more!
