“What you owe”

Aim: I created this series for people who’ve felt misunderstood, silenced or stuck in survival mode. It’s a story I know, and a world I recognise

What You Owe started from a simple question I couldn’t shake: what happens when the person who betrayed you is the same person who once loved you like family? I’ve seen first-hand how tight friendships can fall apart in seconds — and how people carry that hurt like it’s stitched into their skin.

Growing up in London, I was surrounded by stories no one ever put on screen properly. People surviving, messing up, holding secrets, doing what they had to do — but always carrying something under the surface. This series is my way of putting that truth out there. It’s not about glamorising the streets — it’s about the emotion behind the decisions. The quiet parts: guilt, regret, shame, even love.

What You Owe is about what happens when your past doesn’t stay buried. When the people closest to you are part of the pain. And when revenge seems like the only way to feel free again — even if it destroys everything.
