On the 17th July 2024 we'd raised £21,463 with 132 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Our Centenary Chair, Keith Harrington, along with our various junior and senior cricketers, are doing a MARATHON BAT-A-THON on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September 2024 to raise additional funds to support our net renewal project.
“What is a marathon bat-a-thon“ I hear you say! It’s about 24 hours practicing cricket in the nets across two days! Keith will be joined each hour by different junior age group or senior squads to keep him company. Each group will look to raise the most money during their hour. Some are even coming in fancy dress!
If you want to sponsor us, PLEASE DONATE USING THIS CROWDFUNDING SITE as follows:
- click on donate
- put in the amount you would like to donate as a sponsor of the batathon
- click on “Enter custom amount” for the “tip” and change the amount to £zero (as this tip DOES NOT come to the club)
- follow the payment instructions
- confirm gift aid if you are eligible (this DOES come to the club)
- skip the regular donations page (unless you want to do that)
- leave a message for us or skip it
- choose marketing or not
AND THAT’S IT!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Weybridge Cricket Club is a thriving community club at the heart of the town with over 800 active playing or social members, including more than 450 girls and boys.
2024 marks the centenary of Weybridge Cricket Club and there is a year of celebration and fund raising ahead.
Our ethos is “One Club, at the Heart of the Weybridge Community”. Every part of the club is important:

We want to use our Centenary year to raise funds to renew vital practice facilities. With over 500 men, women and children aged from 5 to 75 playing at the club, these facilities help develop cricketers to maximise their potential. They are in urgent need of refurbishment.
The money raised will be used to fund the renewal of our net practice area. Parts of the current nets are unusable and in need of refurbishment. The nets form a key part of the development of cricketers from across the community. The renewed facility will be ECB approved and will have three batting/bowling lanes.
Funds will also be used in support access to cricket for all within our junior section, which continues to go from strength to strength.
Weybridge Cricket Club is situated in the heart of the town on the Weybridge green. The club plays a vital role in looking after the green for all to enjoy, for example adding undersoil irrigation and drainage to help manage both drought and flooding.
Our juniors programme is popular with kids from all backgrounds in Weybridge, providing access to a brilliant outdoor summer sport and to indoor nets across the winter.
Your support is also likely to attract matched funding from other charitable and community organisations, multiplying the positive impact we can make in the Weybridge community.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a donation. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success! There are loads of rewards already given by local businesses for you to claim based on your donation amount, from £2 upwards!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
