Aim: Support in our aim to bring Cinema and Community Arts to Stourbridge, this will help to regenerate the high street and bring people together

In a bold move to resurrect the magic of cinema in Stourbridge, a passionate team has unveiled an ambitious crowdfunding initiative. The West Midlands Community Cinema and Art Spaces CIC, a not-for-profit organization, aims to transform the former Chicago’s bar, nestled within Stourbridge’s Ryemarket shopping centre by redeveloping it into a boutique cinema featuring two screens that serves the local community not only in Cinema, but also provide a cultural hub for Stourbridge.

James Anderson Brown, the founder and former owner of The Mockingbird cinema in Birmingham has taken a lead role in developing the project, leading the charge on the structural front is Sam Binks, a seasoned construction professional with a keen eye for reshaping the venue. Simultaneously, Diana Boateng has assumed the pivotal role of spearheading the fundraising efforts required to bring this transformative vision to life.

For those who share their passion and dream of revitalizing Stourbridge’s cinematic heritage, a crowdfunding campaign has been launched. Donations and support can be channelled towards the redevelopment of the site.

The revival of cinema in Stourbridge stands as a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives and the unwavering commitment to reignite the silver screen in this historic town as well as the arts in all its forms.
