Transforming West Linton’s Play Park: A Community’s Vision

On West Linton’s Lower Green, a cherished play park stands waiting for a new chapter—a transformation into a space that brings joy, creativity, and inclusivity to all. Recognising the immense potential of this beloved spot, a passionate group of community members has joined forces to drive change. Their mission? To regenerate the play park and create a haven where fun knows no bounds and everyone feels welcome.

This project is more than just an upgrade; it’s about uniting the community to create something extraordinary. The Play Park Action Group, fuelled by the spirit of collaboration and a shared vision, has embarked on a journey to raise funds for a complete redesign. The aim is to equip the park with innovative activities, modern equipment, and a layout that caters to all ages and abilities. With consultation from local residents guiding the vision, every voice plays a part in shaping this exciting future.

The journey starts here, with you. This crowdfunding initiative offers each of us the opportunity to be part of this transformation, no matter the size of the contribution. Every donation brings us closer to turning dreams into reality—helping us create a play park that reflects the vibrancy and diversity of our community.  Every contribution will be invested in enhancing the Playpark, and while our goal is £300,000, every pound raised will help make meaningful improvements to the current playpark.  This is just the beginning. The Play Park Action Group operates under the umbrella of the West Linton and Carlops Community Development Trust, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to local growth and improvement. Our recent local Place Plan highlights a strong community desire to regenerate the play park. With a solid foundation, a growing membership, and an unwavering commitment, this group is determined to see the project through to fruition.
