West Chiltington Action Group for COVID 19

In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, the local community has come together to do what it can to provide support for its people during this challenging period. This group has been set up by residents. We provide a ‘pipeline’ between volunteers, Community organisations and local businesses. Our prime focus is help the elderly and vulnerable groups that may be facing long-term isolation, especially those that do not have internet access.  We offer a delivery service for food and urgent supplies including pet food.  We have arranged for local businesses to take orders and payment directly by phone and we assist with the daily deliveries. We have a dedicated phoneline and are looking to provide support in all ways possible to those that are self-isolating.

Money raised will fund the dedicated phoneline, software subscription costs to reach our volunteers, advertising our community service and to purchase essential equipment to keep our volunteers safe and well.

We did a leaflet drop to some 1500 homes in the Village and have already attracted 80 volunteers.  In only 3 days of launch of our helpline we have assisted over 25 residents.
