As a qualified nurse and adult nursing lecturer, I care about the NHS and the staff who work in the NHS.
I was recently shocked to discover that the NHS is in a really bad state. Much worse than what the media is letting on. Things are really bad for our doctors, nurses and other health professionals.
It's not just problems with how much they get paid, there are also problems with looking after the mental health and physical wellbeing of NHS staff while they are at work.
There are a few organisations out there trying to help our NHS staff. Some want to offer free mentoring to NHS staff to help them look after their own health at work. Others want to help NHS staff improve their work conditions by coaching them on how to make smart changes to the ways they work.
The only problem is that it costs money to offer these free services. So, in the end, only a few NHS staff will receive free coaching and mentoring.
I want to raise money to give to these organisations so that they can offer as much free coaching and mentoring to as many NHS staff as possible.
The idea is simple.
Let us (the public) raise money to give to these helpful organisations so that they can coach and mentor our NHS staff for free (at no cost to the NHS). As more of our NHS staff get the help they need, their improved thinking and improved ways of working will make them happier and more efficient at work. This will mean better healthcare for us (the public) and more efficient ways of working that can help the NHS save money.
Please give as much, or as little as you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go a long way in showing our love and care for our NHS.
Together, we can help the NHS and her hardworking doctors, nurses and other health professionals feel loved and cared for.
Please give generously.
