Updated 29/09/2022 We have been working very hard for the past 5 wks and we have now had confirmation they are now seriously looking into our case and we have forwarded all our letters and the response from the vet it is looking promising that we have a case to put forwards. We contacted the insurance company for a copy of the invoice the vet sent to themand they were fraudently claiming for items for items they had not performed or supplied we have pointed this out to the insurers and we have sent them the letters and they are now looking into this matter. We really need help with the funding of this and compensation we get from this after legal costs will be donated to animal charities, all we want is justice for our Kye and any other animal that has been through a similar thing.
One final thing I would like to thank the people that have supported us so far.
Please read on for more thank you all.
Please feel free to leave a comment as it is important for a feed back.
Hi everybody my name is Kye I am a Rotty cross I have not had a great life I was illtreated and left in kennels in the past, I have been from owner to owner upto about 5 years ago Ithought I had my forever home until 2 yrs later they did not want me anymore and put me up for sale. Then my present owners went up to Lincs and saw me and bought me.When they put me in the car I thought where am I going now I looked back from the car and could see I was on my way again, leaving my previous owners. When we got to my new home it took me a while to settle in but I could see that they loved me and would be the last time I moved.I am not with you anymore and my owners will tell you what happened to me.
Rest in peace my dear friend until we meet again God bless you and look after you for me.
Hi my name is David, my wife and I are pensioners and we had Kye for about 3 yrs he was a gentle giant and we loved him to bits and he loved us the same,he was about 5yrs old when we bought him,we took him to the vet and got him registered he was insured with Petplan he had his jabs and MOT once a yr.
We have wrote to our vets about complaining the way that they handled our dog in their care,we will be talking to a solicitor to see if we have a case against them.
I am writing to you because it is still raw as it is too painful to talk about it what happened to our boy whilst he was in your care.
I phoned in last Thursday morning saying my dog was very ill and the vet answered the phone said bring him down at 11.30, I thought I could have brought him down straight away as it was an emergency.
When the vet saw KYE his gums were white and his BP240 and he was losing blood internally he put him on a drip and scanned him and said there was blood in the abdomen, he said to operate straight away. Then he advised us of the cost between £2/3 thousand. he said he would phone us after the operation then we thought he is in good hands and would be well looked after.
We got a phone call from the vet at about 4pm saying he had come through the operation said we could go down to see him. My son and his partner came with us to see him we had to wait to see the vet as he had someone with him. He explained what had happened he had a tumor on his spleen and it had burst and he showed us this as he had it in a bowl. He said he had lost 2 ½ pints of blood into his abdomen we know if you lose a 1/3 it is critical. He said he is still in a critical state and had very little blood in his system I said why did he not have a blood transfusion, he never answered but what he did say which I could not believe that he managed to salvage some of the blood and put it back into his veins now we all know that his blood was contaminated with cancer cells.
This is just not ethical and I was shocked to hear it.
Then we get down to discussing this after surgery care he cannot stay here and would have to be moved to another vet or you take him home, then the cost came up again it would cost between £600 & £1000 for an overnight stay which we did not have as we are pensioners if all this was explained to us in the morning that you have no blood transfusions and have no after surgery care no overnight care we would have had the option to take him to another vet that had these facilities, it looks to me that he just done the procedure to get 21/2 grand out of it with no aftercare for our boy.
We went out in the waiting room, he was still in the operating room laying on a stretcher on a trolley and my wife turned round and asked does he need any painkillers he replied no he has enough to see him through till the morning he was in stress on the stretcher we asked was he ok they said he was fine that is normal. As he was wheeled to the car, we noticed he had no drip.
When we got him home and settled, he had a job to rest he was in a lot of discomfort and panting hard later on in the evening this got worse so I rang the vet as he had given me his number and told him what was happening and he said there is not much blood in his system and is normal. At 11.30 he was really suffering and I phoned the vet again while comforting my boy he was in distress and pain he was suffering while I was talking to the vet, he heard everything that was going on he was gasping for breath and he passed away. We did the right thing for him by taking him to the vet and he suffered before he died.
Our Kye would have survived if he had after care and a blood transfusion ,so PLEASE help to get this changed for all animals like Kye God bless him.
There are dedicated vets out there but unfortunatley there are some with no care whatsoever.I have spoken to other pet owners and some of them have had bad experiences they are all 100% behind me and trying to get new legistration to make sure they have all the facilities in place before carrying out procedures.
This is not the first time this has happened to us we had another rescue dog called Baxter a rotty cross and he became ill and took him to the vet a number of times and give him a needle biopsy ,scan, but none of this happened we were charged about £1200 for all this and we could see he was getting worse,we got him released from there and went to another vet scanned him straight away and found he had a tumor and said he had about 2 days to live. They gave us a load of pain killers but we took him back the next morning through stress and he was put to sleep.
Feel free to comment on this page and if could kindly donate towards legal costs and to get some sort of justice for all animals to get treatment they deserve and to get new legistrations in place.
THANK YOU.
