Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust has been proudly supporting people and communities on behalf of Watford Football Club for over thirty years, as originally established by Graham Taylor OBE and Sir Elton John. We continue this legacy today by tackling societal challenges and inequalities through football; challenges such as poor mental health, anti-social behaviour, inactivity, and dementia.
We engage over 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds through high-quality initiatives and services focussed on health and wellbeing, football and education, and facilities and inclusion. This includes managing two community hubs – Meriden Community Centre and Cedars Youth and Community Centre.
Sport Local Action and The Street Soccer Foundation are launching The Walk of Clubs – a major fundraising walk across all 92 league clubs, part of Football For Good.
Together, we’ll raise vital funds and shine a spotlight on the incredible community work football achieves every day.
We aim to recruit thousands of walkers, raising significant funds for amazing projects and driving thousands of hours of volunteering. Each walker will have the opportunity to connect with your organisation’s volunteer opportunities when they sign up. Together, we’ll celebrate football’s unique ability to unite communities and change lives.
*Funds raised through this project will be split as follows: 50% will go directly to this organisation, and 25% each to Sport Local Action and The Street Soccer Foundation. After costs, the contributions from Sport Local Action and Street Soccer Foundation will be used to support this organisation’s most relevant programmes – specifically those focused on removing financial barriers to sport for young people and tackling youth homelessness.
