With any extra money we will use this to attend further training around water rescue and will enable us to ensure all volunteers have the training and equipment rather than just a select few.

Suicide Prevention UK is an award winning Suicide Prevention charity.

We help anyone who may be struggling with their mental health and/or thoughts of suicide. Our volunteers use their skills, training and empathetic approach to offer a non-judgmental listening ear to help people in what could be their darkest hour. Our volunteers aim to signpost individuals to the most relevant support available to them at that time, to get them the help they deserve.

Our service is available via our helpline - National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK, social media and face to face out in the community.

We currently conduct patrols, and we are seeking to enhance our capabilities to effectively and safely perform water rescues. Individuals experiencing crisis, particularly those contemplating self-harm, often frequent areas near waterways and bridges. By acquiring additional training and appropriate equipment, we aim to bolster our preparedness to assist such individuals.

To achieve this objective, we are seeking further training for our volunteers, including the provision of life jackets, throw lines, and other essential resources necessary for the safe execution of patrols. Our patrol coverage extends to Bath and Bristol, encompassing a significant network of waterways. Strengthening our capabilities in this domain will enable us to better serve the general public, including those in crisis, and contribute to enhancing safety in and around these areas
