Everyone has heard of Mountain Rescue, but many people have never heard of Lowland Rescue - there are 34 teams across the UK who support the police in searching for missing people. Warwickshire Search and Rescue is made up of 100% volunteers who are on call 24/7 365 days a year, and search for missing people in Warwickshire, Coventry, Solihull and East Birmingham. We search on land, in water, and from the air with our search drone. We also have several search dogs in training. We receive no statutory funding at all, and would be very grateful for all help received from Nectar card users.

We are there as a team 24/7 365 days a year to support all residents of Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull. The people we are tasked to search for are classed as vulnerable missing people and are often suffering with mental health issues or dementia, or perhaps in a deep life crisis.
Our purpose is to efficiently search for these missing people, once tasked by the police. All operational volunteers are trained and assessed in search techniques focused on searching areas quickly and thoroughly. Once we find the missing person, we are trained in how best to deal with them (including an understanding of how best to communicate with those known to be autistic, despondent, suicidal or suffering from mental health issues or dementia), and how to treat them if they are injured or unwell.
Every penny of funds that we raise as a team goes into helping others - the charity does not employ anyone, and team members even pay for their own fuel when travelling to callouts, and pay an annual membership fee.
What we do is often a matter of life and death when a family member goes missing and cannot be found. We have helped many individuals and families when they or their loved one has been missing.
