🚶♀️ I’m Walking to Bridlington for a Cause Close to My Heart 💙
This year, I’m taking on a personal challenge: walking all the way from Carlton, Barnsley to Bridlington in support of Military vs Cancer, a charity doing vital work for veterans and their families affected by cancer.
This walk is dedicated to my Grandad, who proudly served in the Royal Navy and heartbreakingly lost his battle with liver and lung cancer. He was strong, brave, and one of the biggest inspirations in my life. This journey is my way of honoring his service, his memory, and the quiet strength he carried both in uniform and during his final fight.
When I arrive in Bridlington, I’ll be doing something truly special: I will sail a ship in his honour — a tribute to the sailor he was. And I know that when that ship sets sail, he’ll be right there with me in spirit, riding the waves like he always did.
Military vs Cancer supports serving personnel, veterans, and their families through the toughest battles of their lives. Every mile I walk and every pound raised will help others who are facing the same pain we’ve felt.
