With extra money made on top of our original target we will be able to get every item listed in our overview and also go towards other pricey items we need for Waffle. this will essentially make us able to open up store to the public seamlessly in March and have everything looking perfect and ready for the big opening.
'Waffle' - The Community Waffle House - Building community using the power of waffle.
First and foremost, for those that already know about Waffle and have supported us so far, we want to say a huge thank-you, we have only come so far because of your help. If you don't yet know what we are about, see below for a short description of our vision and mission.
The next stage of funding for us is called match funding, which means that if we can raise at least £5000 we will be eligible for "Extra Funding" through Crowdfund Devon, where partners like the East Devon District Council will match the funding that we have already received with grants of their own and take us up to our 10k target or even our ultimate 16k goal for our start-up costs.
As a Community Interest Company, we are passionate that 'Waffle' will belong to the community, not to us, and as a small gesture of that, we are planning to engrave, onto our wooden cladding, the names of all the people that have supported us with Waffle - so look out for yours when we open!
We also understand that many like to remain anonymous, so we have put together a list of suggested anonymous donation packages below. Simply choose an amount and click 'remain anonymous' when going through the donation process. We hope the description will put a smile on your face:

Why Waffle?: 'The Community Waffle House' has been set up as a not-for-profit organisation which means that 100% of the profits will go back into the community of Axminster.
What's the name all about?
We will be hand-baking, from fresh, the very best Belgian Waffles with a range of fresh toppings alongside amazing local coffee, juices, milkshakes, cakes etc. but, more importantly for us, we believe in the power of 'waffling' as a community to tackle loneliness and isolation.
What's the vision?
To create a community-owned and run space in the heart of the town that can be used to bring the community together to form unlikely friendships right across the community from the oldest to the youngest with a particular focus on those that struggle with loneliness or are isolated.
How are we hoping to do that?
Through initiatives like a 'pay-it-forward' scheme where people can buy coffee for the less fortunate, a voting system in-house where people can decide where they want the profits to go, hosting free community events and educations workshops in conjunction with Teach South West and providing a safe space for teenagers to go in the evening.
