What you will be doing
To keep supporting people the best way we can, we need to invest in our staff. That’s where you come in! We’re looking for Aviva volunteers to share their skills through training sessions that boost staff confidence and capability. Your time and knowledge can have a lasting impact.
We are specifically looking for support in the following areas:
IT Skills
- Managing Digital Files & Cloud Storage: PKAVS uses Microsoft 365, but many staff aren’t making the most of it. Basic training on tools like OneDrive, SharePoint, and Forms would help, along with tips like sharing links to documents instead of sending attachments.
- Managing Data & Creating Reports: Training on spreadsheets and dashboards for data analysis and reporting.
- Tools for prioritising and managing workload.
Leadership Skills
- We would appreciate support with leadership development for early-career staff who aren’t in leadership roles yet. Sessions on soft skills and what it takes to lead would build awareness and confidence.
Neurodiversity Awareness and Inclusion
- Some staff at PKAVS are neurodivergent. Training for managers and teams on how to work well with neurodivergent colleagues would support a more inclusive workplace.
However, if you have any other areas of expertise that you feel could benefit PKAVS, please do let us know!
What we are looking for
We’re looking for volunteers who enjoy sharing their knowledge and supporting others to grow. If you have experience in the areas we've highlighted, we’d love to hear from you! You don’t need to be a professional trainer - just someone who’s confident, encouraging, and keen to make a difference.
This is a great opportunity to use your everyday skills to support a local charity that makes a real impact in your community. You’ll help build confidence, improve wellbeing, and connect with a friendly and welcoming team that truly values your time and contribution.
What difference this will make
By sharing your skills, you’ll be directly supporting our staff who, in turn, who support thousands of people in your community. Your training will boost staff confidence, improve how we work, and ultimately help us reach more people across Perth & Kinross. Volunteers in this role can expect a real sense of fulfilment, knowing that even a short session can spark long-term positive change for PKAVS and the people we serve.
What to bring
You'll only need to bring anything you need to deliver the training - this can be discussed and arranged prior to the training session.
Getting there
We have numerous sites, but if you can provide training for us, its likely to be at our Carers Centre on Lewis Place - there is parking available nearby and there are bus stops on Bute Drive which is nearby.
Facilities
Toilet facilities are available and we can provide tea/coffee/water. Depending on the length of the training sessions, we may be able to provide lunch too - this can all be discussed!
Accessibility
Please get in touch if you have an accessibility requirements.
