We're still collecting donations
On the 5th June 2021 we'd raised £60 with 5 supporters in 48 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 5th June 2021 we'd raised £60 with 5 supporters in 48 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Firstly, I will explain the reason in which the money is required.
The church service will take place within the Minster Church of St. Andrew. The main church in Plymouth. This is open to the public.
Costs are needed to cover the organist & caretaker.
The celebration part of the day is again open to the public, but with a purchased security wrist band. Many reasons for this is detailed here - Security company costs as we have VVIP/VIP's attending including military, we have to hire the venue, members of staff on site, sound and lighting engineers and live entertainment acts a quantity control for the limit of people allowed into the event. Only £3:00 per wrist band.
Half of the costs have been raised already.
VJ Day came on August 15th 1945 after horrendous and brutal conditions sufferered by the British and Allied forces, alongside civilian members of the public. Barbaric treatment was inflicted on thousands of men, women and children on a daily basis. On V J Day, survivors were told to go home and not to speak of the conditions as no one would believe them.
2020 was the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day, but due to covid only a small service could be provided and the rest of the plans were cancelled.
2021 now sees a positive way forward to hold this important memorial in a Minster Church to remember all of our families, members of the public and to those allied countries who joined us. We will then hold a wonderful celebration of live entertainment for the end of WW11.
Money raised will be used to pay for the use of the church, order of service booklets, security personnel, entrance wrist bands and the live entertainment.
If you can spare just a couple of pound please that would be very much appreciated. This will be a public event and open to all.
