Help support a range of fun and engaging activities for people with sight and hearing loss, including art, music, gardening, woodland walks, games afternoons, and talks. 

Tasks may include assisting service users, meet and greet, setting up and tidying activity spaces, making refreshments, and helping everyone feel welcome and included.

• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable engaging with people with sight and/or hearing loss
• Willing to assist with a variety of tasks (e.g. setting up, making tea, tidying)
• Supportive and encouraging during activities
• Good communicator and listener
• Able to work as part of a team
• Open to learning about accessible communication and inclusion

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to those with sensory loss in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Volunteers play a vital role in making our activities welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable for people with sight and hearing loss. By offering a helping hand, a friendly chat, or simply being there to support, volunteers help build confidence, reduce isolation, and create a real sense of community. In return, volunteers gain a rewarding experience, meet new people, develop their skills, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

For the woodland walks and gardening sessions, you will require outdoor wear and comfortable boots/shoes you don't mind getting dirty.

We're located at 17-19 George Street, right next to Provender Brown.

Toilets, tea and coffee available.
