There couldn't be a worse time to be evicted from your home.
The orphaned girls at Grace Villa, Uganda, Africa have lost the one place where they feel safe and need to raise money to get their new home.
During the difficult times of Co-Vid19 many people have lost their jobs, not been able to work or have been given pay cuts (myself included) but we can give thanks to everything we do have. We have a warm home, we have had the experience of the love from our parents, we can choose whether we want to order pizza or curry this weekend and can sit on our sofas with our nice cushions drinking a nice cold glass of wine.
In this situation, I do not have a lot of money to give or do not want to ask you for a lot of money. Instead, I ask you to make a few small sacrifices in your life and see what you can raise with that.
My sacrifices:
1. 2 hours of paid work per week will go to Grace Villa's new home until they get a home.
2. Every luxury item (beer, wine, coffee, dessert, new clothes) I refuse will be totalled and the money will go to Grace Villa's new home until they get a home.
3. I will dedicate some time to writing and posting this campaign and not waste it on instagram or browsing facebook posts.
A word from Ruth:
My name is Ruth Kendegye Ndyabahika, and I am the Founder of Grace Villa. It is in regards to the plight of this sanctuary for vulnerable girls that I write to you today. For 7 years, we have lived and operated out of a house on Makanga Hill in Kabale, Western Uganda. It is within these walls that the children have learnt what safety & love actually feels like, and have grown and thrived. We were unexpectedly served with a 3 month notice to vacate the house, and are now in dire need of a new home. A house has been identified that is for sale, not far from the current home, with specifications that fit the needs of the growing and evolving Grace Villa.
