3Support Herzog Medical Centre
UK Friends of Herzog Hospital is a registered British charity dedicated to supporting Herzog Medical Centre in Israel. Since 1894, Herzog has been a beacon of hope, providing exceptional care in geriatrics, rehabilitation, respiratory care, and mental health, including dedicated support for veterans.
Peace of Mind Programme
Our vision is to help every IDF combat veteran process their experiences and heal. Sadly, too many IDF veterans carry invisible wounds—grief and trauma—from their service. While veterans with physical injuries generally get the help they need, those with psychological scars can be left behind. The Peace of Mind Programme is there to make sure they get the help they need.
We are now raising funds for the October 7 Warriors Project, helping soldiers who fought in the toughest battles at the Nova Festival and in the Kibbutzim that day. They saved many lives, but were deeply impacted by what they went through. This project helps them process their trauma and begin the healing journey.
Peace of Mind is a nine-month journey which includes a transformative week-long seminar hosted by a Jewish community abroad, where veterans engage in 40 hours of group therapy, as well as uplifting social activities. Upon returning to Israel, follow-up workshops and treatments ensure sustained progress. These include innovative treatments for those with PTSD, and the programme now extends support to veterans' families.
Urgent Need
We urgently need to heal our October 7 Warriors and the 3,000+ other veterans we have on the waiting list to find their Peace of Mind. Thank you for your generous support of these brave men and women who carry invisible scars from serving Israel.
