We are a student theatre company from the University of Manchester aiming to take a piece of new writing to the Edinburgh Fringe.

by Cave People Company in Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

Faced with imminent starvation, two cave-people discover a C.P company goggle hat that enables them to see into the 21st century A.D. Will this glimpse of the future offer a way out of their desperate plight, or will it only push them deeper into misery?

This piece of new writing, first performed in a sold out run at the King's Arms in Salford, combines witty one-liners with an in-depth exploration of relationship politics, prompting laughs, gasps and pause for thought. Meanwhile, its time-travel narrative brings the Stone Age closer and estranges us from the present, creating a highly original piece of weird fiction. As far as we are aware, the Neolithic period has never before been staged in this way.

We are an entirely independent amateur company. We believe that no actor or member of the creative team should have to pay out of their own pocket for this opportunity that some performers can afford to take for granted. We hope that your generosity will allow us to stage this exciting original work, despite the financial barriers we face.

Many of us are performing at the Fringe for the first time; this Crowdfunder aims to cover the cost of our venue and accommodation. If you would like to support us but cannot give, sharing our show would be hugely appreciated.

We are performing at Paradise at the Vault, 18th-24th August.
