In the week prior to lock-down on the 23rd March, the Tywyn and District Corona Support group set up a local response to the difficulties that would be faced by the most vulnerable in the community and their need to self-isolate.
Over 150 people registered to become volunteers, 2 hotlines, a website and card payment facilities were set up and hundreds of flyers distributed across the region.
Since the service started it has received over 700 requests for help and the volunteers and system remain in place still receiving calls and emails every day.
We're now asking for a bit of financial help due to being charged fees by the card payment company that has enabled us to shop for vulnerable people and continue to do so.
