TUCKER IS GONE follows a self-absorbed father as he attempts to find his daughter's lost hamster before her return, prompting a confrontation with his own failings and his fracturing family bonds.
This short explores how love, and the trust and respect of those who matter most, plays out not in one fell swoop but in small yet decisive episodes, moment by moment, negotiating the balance of one’s own needs and desires with the sacrifices involved in loving others. It investigates themes I'm interested in in my work: family, intimacy, ego, surveillance, and hauntological processes of reflection on our past. I was inspired by films like Aftersun, Scrapper, Caché, and by YouTube apology videos, dashcam fail compilations and my own personal digital archive that I've kept since a child.
The creative team is queer and women-led and 90% of us are FLINTA and/or queer. We are working with a local queer production company, WENDYVISION, to ensure that the crew will also be queer and FLINTA.
