Dear friends,
I'm holding an exhibition at Centrespace Gallery in Bristol, opening on the 1st February, and running until the 5th. The exhibition will bring together a selection of UK based artists and painters, and will provide a free space to see and engage with contemporary art in Bristol.
The artists showing are:
- Abi Birkinshaw
- Hugo Winderlind
- Will Cook
- Minnie Kathleen-Browning
- Albert Rendle
- Cordelia Ostler
Exhibition Bio:
Truth, like love and sleep, resents approaches that are too intense
"This exhibition takes its title from a line by W.H. Auden, which expresses the attempt to uncover the ineffable - truths, emotions, and sensations that resist direct articulation and definition.
It features the work of several UK-based painters, each engaging with the challenge of representing what often defies representation.
Just as some aspects of human experience are best understood through intuition rather than intellect, the works produce intuitive harmonious outcomes through form, colour, and quality.
The show invites viewers to discover meaning through introspection, taking into account the works within the context of their own lives, uncovering a personal meaning rather than a pre-written one.
Just as sleep comes to us when we stop looking for it, these works encourage a slow contemplation rather than an immediate comprehension."

Unfortunately, putting on an exhibition comes with a cost, and it is important the space is free to enter. Here is a breakdown of where your money will be used:
- £325 - Gallery hire
- £25 - Art Insurance
- £40 - Promotion
- £10 - Energy costs
Why should I donate?
With the current state of the world, and money being tighter than ever, there is plenty of valid causes you could choose to help with your money.
Here, it will support 6 different artists based in the UK, and safeguard Bristol’s contemporary art scene. It will help keep a central Bristol gallery space open, and ensure more exhibitions like this one can happen in the future.
This event is not-for-profit, and any additional money raised will be donated to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
Thanks for reading, and for donating.
