Trull Meadow Trust
Trull Meadow Trust was formed to purchase a meadow in the heart or our village to save it from being sold for housing development. The funds were raised within the village through donations and loans that we still need to repay. Our charter promises that it will remain an unspoilt meadow and continue to be used by village folk as it has been for many generations.

Trull Meadow Trust was set up to purchase an ancient meadow, lying within our Somerset village, that was threatened by development. The Meadow has been used by the village for generations - many with their four-legged friends! It is a lovely, unspoilt meadow with an ancient 500 year old oak tree and is reputed to have been a site where the Parliamentary Army camped in the civil war. We will continue to manage it traditionally with cattle grazing for a few weeks of the year and have pledged to aways keep it that way.
The funds were raised within the village through one off donations and pledges of a few pounds per month. Every one gave as much as they could afford but as we had only a short time to complete the purchase we were grateful to accept the offer of several interest free loans. These need to be repaid within the next few years.
The meadow has become an even more valued open space now that work has started on a major housing development on the edge of the village. That is why people were so determined that this ancient meadow in the heart of our village must never be changed. and will be preserved in perpetuity.
In supporting us you will help us retain a significant part of our village for future generations.
