Tristar “Let’s walk to Nationals” 337miles over April To raise funds to get our NBTA team to nationals in Torbay

by [email protected] in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, United Kingdom

Who are we?

We are the TriStar Twirlers who train twice a week in our local community centre, We take members from age 4 upwards and teach them skills in baton twirling, as well as flag, pom and mace. We compete in 4 different associations NBTA, BATON, BMSA and UBT, giving the members a good opportunity to learn lots of different routines.
We are a self funding troupe who relies on the members fundraising to be able to do as much as we can and keep the costs low for the parents in our community. Giving as many young people a chance to learn a skill they can then go on to compete with. We promote teamwork and good sportsmanship as well as keeping our members active.

Why are we crowdfunding?

The girls will be taking part in a sponsored event of collectively walking 337 miles which is the distance from Great Yarmouth to Torbay over the month of April to raise funds for the team.

We are fundraising to get our NBTA team members to nationals 2023 in Devon
to do this we need to be able to compete at regionals to qualify, purchase costumes and pay entry fees. Fundraising enables us to keep our costs low for parents and allowing more members the opportunity to take part regardless of financial background

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

How we’ll spend the money raised

We will spend the money raised on entry fees for competitions and purchasing costumes to enable our members to compete in the NBTA national championships.

Community impact

Our team gives the younger members of the community an activity to take part in keeping them fit, having fun, making friends and learning a skill. Doing as much fundraising as we can helps the families of our members by keeping all costs low and making the sport accessible to all regardless of background
