This project successfully funded on 1st November 2024, you can still support them with a donation.

Aim: The Actively Inclusive Trails For All Fund, will fund 10 people to attend the Due North CIC Trail Running weekend in November.

Who are we?

Due North are a Not for Profit Social Enterprise Company supporting people to get outdoors,  improving physical and mental health by taking part in outdoor activities.

Our aim is to help tackle inequality in the outdoors by creating events and activities which are diverse and inclusive. We focus on ensuring that we leave a lasting effect in the community by training and mentoring people to enable them to gain skills and confidence so that they can continue accessing the outdoors for further adventures.  1727710429_tahira.jpeg

Why are we crowdfunding?

We want to raise enough money to fund 10 people to attend the Fell & Trail Running weekend in November. The weekend will give people the chance to experience Fell & Trail running, be coached by record breaking fell runner Nicky Spinks. Learn new skills and build confidence. Skills such as Map reading, What to wear for the hills, Access Rights and how to look after our beautiful countryside as well as more specific run related topics such as training for long distance running, Strength & Conditioning and nutrition advice.

This year the Due North races have reached a record number of  Global Majority participants as well as a record number of female entrants. We believe that this a response from delivering projects such as the Fell & Trail weekends, Introduction courses and women only courses. There is still a long way to go in making sport and outdoor activities more diverse and inclusive, But we believe that with your help, we can continue to give people easier access and more opportunities.

Community impact

The activities which will be offered from these funded places will directly benefit excluded and marginalised communities, enabling individuals to overcome barriers to access the outdoors in a supportive environment.  The activities are designed to be inclusive and supportive, with a focus on confidence building in a safe environment to make the first step to becoming physically active or to progress their love for trail running. Being physically active , connecting with others and connecting with nature has a positive impact on mental health, improving self-esteem and improving physical health which can have a transformative impact on people living in adverse conditions.
