The Cause

St Antony's Centre: Preserving Heritage, Transforming Lives

St Antony's Centre is a UK charity established in 1979 that provides advice, support, and training for individuals in the workplace and their communities. From its humble beginnings supporting the Trafford Park community, the Centre has grown significantly, expanding its reach to work with partners across the UK and Europe while maintaining its person-centered approach.

Heritage at Our Heart

At the heart of our Centre lies the Trafford Park Heritage Centre, a unique exhibition space dedicated to preserving the remarkable story of Trafford Park—the world's first planned industrial estate. Our collection features artifacts and archive materials dating back to 1896, capturing the industrial and manufacturing history of companies like Ford, Kellogg's, Metropolitan Vickers, and Proctor and Gamble.

Among our most treasured exhibits are materials showcasing life in Trafford Park Village—a purpose-built community that emerged alongside the industrial development, complete with its own grid-system streets, schools, shops, police station, and recreational facilities. Our archives provide a fascinating window into this self-contained village surrounded by industry.

Beyond Heritage: Supporting Communities Today

While we cherish our rich heritage, St Antony's Centre is dedicated to creating real impact today. We offer unique conference facilities, comprehensive training programs, spiritual support, and community development initiatives designed to help people navigate modern workplace challenges.

Our mission remains focused on providing training, advice, and support while developing community-based projects that address social, economic, industrial, and ecumenical concerns. From accredited skills training to support with welfare applications, our dedicated team delivers a wealth of services to both employed and unemployed individuals.

Through our work, we aim to create meaningful social value by building partnerships that make a tangible difference in local communities. Our 40+ years of experience in community support, training, and workplace development uniquely positions us to help transform lives across diverse communities.
